A pair of MAN V8-1300s have been diligently selected to be the workhorse of the Valder Sprint 20s. Al that power is delivered via the ZF665 gearbox to a pair of custom design and built 36" 5 Bladed, surface piercing Propellors, on a custom driveline. These Propellors are a bespoke high-speed design, designed to work hand in hand with out foiling technology for a streamlined, efficient propulsion system.
Carbon fibre has a strength-to-weight ratio about twice that of the S-glass used in most boats. Carbon fibres have other advantages, including high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high-temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion.
One of the inherent design benefits of a power catamaran is the much larger space envelope that the designer has to work within, compared to a similar length monohull. With the Valder Yachts, designer Roger Hill has maximised every level of the interior to ensure that each place can benefit from all available space.
